I’d probably say Torres del Paine, hopefully you get the kind of weather we had, then it will be spectacular. El Chalten was nice but almost everything was closed and if they had much more snow I’m not sure the walks would be open either. Choosing between one or the other I’d say Torrres del Paine.

Hey Grant and Gen,

Thank you for taking the effort to write down all your winter experiences. I am going to Argentinië this August and reading your stories makes me want to leave immediately !We are only staying 5 days ‘in’ Calafate, so we will have to choose between Torres del Paine and El Chalten… A difficult choice as it seems both amazing, What would you suggest?

Hi Anna, thanks for the compliment, finally getting around to updating a bit more of the blog…in a few days I’ll hopefully have the South American bit sorted. Just checked out your blog, looks like you are about a week behind us, we have just got back to Vancouver after job interviews at Lake Louise last week.

Must have been awesome to see a glacier that is actually growing! It looks so much more fresh than the receding ones here in Canada.
